Tiki Queen – the new name of our reborn diving vessel

Kon-Tiki Thailand Diving Boat Tiki QueenWe would like to thank all of our guests, staff and friends that has participated in the renaming contest for our boat formerly known as Ingorntravel 5.

The jury has now decided on the winning contribution which is – Tiki Queen.

Congratulations to Heidi Sjølshagen who submitted the winning suggestion. You have won a 3-day diving package with Kon-Tiki Thailand, which you can use at any of our four destinations, or combinations thereof.

A special consolation prize goes to the most active contributor – Roger Platou, who contributed with six suggestions! You have won a nice Kon-Tiki piké shirt.

We will contact both of you via email shortly.

Stay tuned for pictures from the revamped Tiki Queen after she gets done at the shipyard, which should be sometime during the first week of September.

We need your Help!

Kon-Tiki Dive Boat Koh Lanta
In October 2006 Kon-Tiki Thailand took delivery of M/V Ingorntravel 5.

At the time the second fully owned vessel (after our faithful workhorse M/V Ingmarie) and the beginning of the Kon-Tiki fleet. She sailed her first year of service for Kon-Tiki Krabi, and has after that been servicing our customers at Kon-Tiki Lanta. After this many years of great service she is now undergoing a major facelift, to ensure that she remains as THE top boat on Koh Lanta.

In conjunction with this, we want to take this opportunity to rename her. As her original name was chosen by the boat builder, we now want to give her a name that is relevant to Kon-Tiki, Thailand & the Andaman Sea.

Kon-Tiki Krabi opening a new office

Kon-Tiki Krabi Diving and Snorkeling office SheratonWe can now proudly present Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort as our newest partner.

After months of planning, our resort office at Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort is finally open. This is situated in beautiful Klong Muang Beach about 20 min. from Ao Nang and the Kon-Tiki Dive Center. With its stunning architecture and in house tennis cours,  its location right on the beach its easy to see why Sheraton is as popular as it is.

We now look forward to taking care of their guests, showing them the wonders of the Andaman Sea, teaching them how to snorkel and experience their first breaths underwater. From now on all their guests can book diving and snorkeling directly with the hotel tour desk and join us on any excursions.
